An alumnus of the University of South Florida, Danish Hasan has a passion for community engagement. While completing his B.S. in Public Health, Danish engaged in clinical research at Moffitt Cancer Center's Tobacco Relapse Intervention program. Danish is currently pursing a Master of Legal Studies at Washington University in St. Louis with further goal of being a practicing physician.
Originally from Pittsburgh, Steve Snider moved to Tampa to pursue his degree in Finance from the University of South Florida. He has been an active member of his community and serves as a volunteer at the Crescent Community Clinic. Steve was selected to serve as the statistician and data analyst for the initial AmeriCorps VISTA grant to investigate the opioid crisis in Hernando County.
Adam Shehub studied Biomedical Sciences and graduated from the University of South Florida in 2018. He hopes to provide medical services to under-privileged communities. He has completed public health classes to understand and develop the most effective way to alleviate the opioid epidemic. Adam helped found our sister chapter, TORN USF.
Adam Albadawi graduated from University of South Florida with his Masters of Science in Biomedical Sciences and is a co-founder of the "Who Wore it Better" project.
Adam's interest in this project stems from the opiate-related death of his 44 year old uncle in 2016. He is currently pursing his medical degree from Lake Eerie College of Osteopathic Medicine.
Suzie Johns is an alumna of the University of South Florida. After completing her Bachelor of Science in Marketing from the Muma College of Business, Suzie moved to Egypt to teach secondary school. She moved back to Tampa to work as a Medical Marketer at Advanced Pain Care. Suzie's passion of serving her community lead to her involvement with TORN.
A graduate from the University of South Florida, Rula Hijaz has a passion for helping others overcome obstacles. She has established a background in the retail, clinical, and managerial sides of the healthcare field and hopes to pursue a career where she can help those who think it’s not possible to help themselves.Rula hopes to pursue her masters in Human Resources.
Paola Perez studies at the University of South Florida and hopes to pursue a career in Integrative Biology. As the reigning Miss Tampa Bay USA, her "beauty for a purpose" mission is Opioid Awareness.
Ragean Turner is an Honors student studying Biomedical Sciences.Raegan is aware of the current events in the medical field and the gravity of the opioid crisis in particular. She hopes to pursue a career in orthopedic surgery.
Nicole Mahr is an aspiring neonatologist studying Cell and Molecular Biology. Nicole is passionate about furthering the development of public health in the community and increasing awareness of the effects of opioid addiction, especially to college students.
Sheila Parsi is studying Environmental Microbiology and Forensic Behavioral Healthcare. She wants to try and bring awareness to mental health, including substance use disorders and reduce the stigmatization around seeking help.
Firas Khan studies Microbiology at the University of South Florida. He is passionate about working to better his community and the lives of those around him. Firas hopes to pursue a career in medicine.
Adam Mostafa is at the University of South Florida pursuing a degree in Biomedical Sciences. Serving in the USF division, he hopes to make a stand and help others around him who are suffering with addiction.
